Did I hear Diana mention St. Louis? Midwest here she comes.

St. Louis is about 4 hrs from here. Closer to me than Oklahoma. I hear a road trip a coming. We have had crazy weather in the Midwest this year. Unless the weather and road conditions prevents me, I WILL be there. :teehee:

I wonder if our other native Midwestern DTers would like to go to this. This should be a great show, it's a whole concert so I presume she'll have an 8-song set.

Stacy Donahue, Nashville songwriter for Taylor Swift and other country stars!

Is this statement that Stacy is writing for Taylor Swift a fact or fiction? I thought that Taylor wrote all her own songs.

If fact, than is it possible that ITYTLH was on hold for Taylor and than dropped becuse Taylor could not do the song justice?

Just wondering.

Well, in any case, this is a wonderful thing that Diana is doing.

Taylor has been co-writing on her last album, so maybe IF they are working together they are working together.

Bunny, it sounds like you're in for a treat as Diana, Stacy and Jenny will be doing a few covers together. Is there any chance you'd be able to get video?

Wow, what a great evening. I got to meet Stacy Donahue, and Jenny Gill. I will start off with my thoughts:
All 3 young women are amazing. For their age, they are comfortable in their own skin, know the direction they want to take with their music and their lives, have the confidence to get there. Just watching them all together, brought a lot of smiles to my face. They finished sentences for each other, threw parts to each other, improvised on the spur of the moment. They each "get each other". Very obvious. You can tell they all work together very, very, well!

Meet and greet:
The meet and greet was held in one building on campus. There were about 30 of us. They served a great dinner. When they appeared, Diana was the draw of the crowd. You can tell she knows how to work the room and encompass us all. When I introduced myself to Stacy, I let her know that "I taught her to love me" was my favorite. Her and Diana performed the song together and she dedicated the song to me.:thanks::). When I heard her say my name it was like I was in shock.. Thanks Stacy~~

Show:
The show was held in the Coffee/lounge on campus which was across the street from the meet and greet. It held about 50 of us. It was a small intimate setting, low lighting, relaxed atmosphere, and the aroma of coffee and hot chocolate filled the room. This all added to the flavor of the show on a cold winter's night. The girls and KC (Guitarist) rotated singing songs. They each talked about the song they were about to sing and a lot of humor personal reasons for the song.

Girls:
Stacy Donahue really impressed me! I bought her CD and listened to it a lot on the way home. She is funny, bright, has charisma! Very, very. talented.

Jenny Gill is really down to earth! She talked of her parents a lot but you can tell she has had to work for everything she has. No silver spoon kid there. She is very easy to talk to!

Diana, Ha-what can I say that I have not said before. New hair looks great. I like this color than the darker hair. Voice sounds great! Her voice carried more than the others. You can tell she is working out!
At one time, I thought she was going to blow out the speakers. Her voice is powerful! How does it come out of that little body? haha

P.S:
Diana drove home after the concert! ahhah It was snowing when I left St. Louis and I headed west, so I am sure she hit it driving south. Ah, to be young again and have her energy!

They have given me permission to post anything on YouTube, but I have only looked at one song, and I am not happy with the "quality" of it. I will not post anything that is bad.. (sorry) I think it takes away from their performance. I was up all night, and have had only a few minutes of sleep today. The editing will have to wait. :(

One thing I did not know is that Stacy and Diana, pitched the song to Jenny (Jenny worked as a publisher at that time and has since quit to start writing and performing) and it took Diana and Stacy about 4 times of rewriting the song before Jenny was satisfied with it!! During the show, they explained a lot of the "business side" of writing and performing. I like the type of venue!

There were no ego's there last night. (In fact Stacy and Jenny praised Diana a lot)

It was nice to meet CJ from here and talk to Dawn. It's been awhile Dawn!! ;)

Great campus by the way!!! They did a great job taking care of the girls and us!

They all will succeed! and for the last question you all have been trying to figure out: Which show is she doing?? Drumroll..................she won't tell! hahah So the announcement is still forth coming ! Ha-

Bunny, I glad that you had a great time and it was almost like a personal concert with only 50 people. It is nice to know that Stacy, Jenny and Diana are such great friends.

Beside ITYTLH what songs did they sing? Did Diana sing "Break It To Me Gently'?

Thanks for the review!

Bunny, glad you had a great time. Thanks for the review. Obviously we'd love to see any videos you'd be willing to share, whenever you get the time. An alternative to not posting everything on YouTube might be to upload whatever you might want to share with a smaller group to a yousendit-type site so that only those with a link could download.

I hope these three get to do another show together again. I'm also interested in what the set list was for the songs Diana sang. Diana must be exhausted with the drive to St. Louis and back in one day and then to Atlanta the next.

Sounds like it was a blast, Bunny. These are special intimate shows that Diana's getting to do, it must be amazing to see her that up close and personal.
I agree with Lorraine, you could upload them to yousendit and only send them to the people you want to send them to. I'm really interested in hearing what they had to say about the business side of songwriting.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. I don't know how long it takes but she drove from St. Louis to Atlanta and had a flight to NYC tonight. She's not even a signed artist and but she definitely has the drive and conviction.

Diana drove from Nashville to St. Louis and back to Nashville. That is just over 300 miles each way. Than she drove from Nashville to Snellville which is about 270 miles. Diana is finally putting some miles on her Mustang which now will be sitting in Brenda's garage for the next 6 months.

Haha I left Nashville out of the loop. But that's gotta be a lot of driving.

One of the other girls drove up from Nashville but Diana was driving back. It is a 6 hr drive. They had a caravan going. She was getting up the next morning and driving to Atlanta which is a 4 hr drive. Good thing the pilot does the driving otherwise Diana would want to drive it. ;)
