Expecting Diana to do everything as if she has a crystal ball and knows exactly how things will turn out, is holding her to a standard none of us in this thread are capable of meeting

You don't speak for me I said in August 2006 that Mauldin was a very bad fit for Di and I was called everything under the sun with you leading the way with language and accusations that would make a truck driver blush. Then not 6 months later you start a a Mauldin management thread.

The entire (subtle) suggestion by some that Diana knows less about the entertainment business than people posting here is really very demeaning to Diana.

Since you continue to point finger at "some".I'm sure Di knows a lot about the industry singing , studio on how its done, tv shows, interviews etc. but when it comes to legal you gotta call a lawyer. 35 years of working with contracts I still get a lawyer but what I do first is go through it myself make notes on contentious clauses and then take it to a lawyer for his perusal. Fortunately I can discuss it in a knowledgeable way. Most people can't and I don't expect Di to be able . Not knowing something is not demeaning its reality because not everybody is an expert in everything.

Some of you are expecting too much of Diana. She's only twenty years old and you expect her to know everything about the music industry! I don't think Diana has the power to see into the future, she just reads and signs a contract like every singer out there! I don't know if you guys realize this, but life isn't fair sometimes. Life just isn't fair most of the time for Diana. smilieTHUMBSDOWN.gif

Actually she can and so can Brenda. Business issues have come up at events in conversation and based on that, I don't think you need to worry so much about Diana needing your "expert" advice. If I were needing to seek business advice from somebody outside of my own attorney or family, I'd definitely seek out Brenda for help. The woman is amazing.

The idea that if things go wrong, it must have been because of a bad contract or because somebody didn't know something (rather than in life sometimes things are a bad fit even with all the i's dotted) isn't even logical.

Given that his most recent project had been to launch the career of Bow Wow and that he had signed Alicia Keys gave plenty of reason to give him the benefit of the doubt. The fact that he turned out in hindsight to be a bad choice wasn't as obvious at the time to anybody who wasn't worried about the r&b thing or who is other clients were. Lather, rinse, repeat. I think we've talked this subject to death.

Wasn't this thread supposed to close December 23rd? smilieLOL.gif

Yes I've talked to Brenda no qualms there however I'm upset that I'm not on your list .

Yes things do happen unexpectedly that's why you have Force Majeure in a contract. This is to cover things you have no control over however the things you have control of should be a team effort between your lawyer and you. If in hindsight it sucked you get a lousy job.

Yes Bow Wow I'm afraid I'll have to consult my dog. One moment please..... Ahh not a household name but my dog has heard bow wow before. Pays to consult.

Yes Alecia great talent. that's Clive baby.

Yes well I looked at the person, his agency , his clientelle and then looked at Diana and I didn't see a fit with that and R&B or what they call R&B. I'm not a lover of "R&B therefore it had no influence on my judgement where I focused on the relationship and marketability.. Will it work yes or no? It was No in August 2006 and it still is.

Close this thread, are you kidding this is the only thing happening on this site . We've got 28 more days to beat this subject to a pulp. smilie2THUMBSUP.gif

P.S. I told Chescat and Igorski 3 weeks ago that I thought Mauldin was history already back in October.

I'm hopeful that you are joking. Dutch, Bow Wow is actually quite a big name, a platinum artist. Not as big as Usher or Chris Brown but anybody who is in touch with modern pop culture has heard of him.
